GunZ 2 Reborn Test environment

Hi all, this chat is exclusive to those invited to playtest upcoming changes to Reborn before they go live. This version of the client is referred to by many names, including but not limited to "non-prod", "dev", "test", "playtest" and "preview".

Rules

  1. Do not circulate the client files to anyone outside of this group. They are decompiled and expose the inner workings for development purposes so we would prefer they aren't exposed to anyone else. Doing so will have you removed from the playtesting group.
  2. Do not announce upcoming changes before they have been officially announced.
  3. Do not post footage recorded on the Playtest server without prior authorisation from myself or Milice

How to connect

  1. Create an account on this site and use that account to log into the playtest client (once Zen has verified manually as there's no mail server)
  • It's against best-practice, but I'd recommend reusing your production credentials in the playtest server so you don't have to re-type your details when switching between production and non-production. The Playtest server is a prerelease version of the production server, and as such your credentials are not logged or stored anywhere unsalted+unhashed.
  • Please use the same character name as you use in production to make it easier to identify who is who.

  2. Extract the zip file
  3. Run "gunz2_playtest.bat"
  • This batch file should automatically download any required updated files for you

Notes

  • Play test server is administered by Zen rather than Milice
  • Play test server is located in Australia, so your ping will be slightly higher than normal
  • The Download button in the page banner points to the production version of the Reborn client, not the Test one
  • Donations are not connected, Milice will still receive the money but the credits will not reach your Playtest account
  • Mail server is not connected, so I'll need to manually verify your account upon registration before you can log in. I'll also need to set your gold and USD manually anyway so I'll do it while I'm in there
